Building Canadian Strength at Home

The Government of Canada announced $1 million in support for Atom-Jet Industries, an agricultural-equipment manufacturer based in Brandon, Manitoba. The investment is intended to help the company respond to the effects of U.S. tariffs by producing more in Canada, strengthening its supply chain and expanding into markets beyond the United States.

Atom-Jet plans to add 4,000 square feet to its Brandon facility and bring powder coating and sandblasting operations in-house. Doing more of this work locally should reduce costs and production times while increasing the company's manufacturing capacity.

The company is also looking to increase direct sales across Canada and in Australia, reducing its dependence on the U.S. market and certain equipment-manufacturer customers. The expansion is expected to create eight new jobs in Brandon.

The funding comes through Canada's Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI). The federal government recently added $1.5 billion to that program, bringing its total national funding to $3.45 billion, as part of a broader effort to help Canadian businesses affected by U.S. tariffs diversify markets, improve productivity and develop stronger domestic supply chains.
